Ian G. Anderson, PhD

Ian Anderson is a business psychologist and Organizational Development consultant with 20 years of experience. He enjoys an international reputation as a no-nonsense problem solver who believes that there is no conflict between developing people and growing profits.

Dr. Anderson has worked for an array of Fortune 500 and Times 100 companies at the corporate, team and individual levels. He is a specialist in a wide variety of consulting solutions and his projects have included:

  • Leadership development, strategy and implementation
  • Executive coaching
  • Corporate strategy and change management
  • Board level recruitment, selection and assessment center development
  • Global trading
  • Corporate policy development, training, and implementation in the areas of drug and alcohol problems in the workplace.

In 1995, Dr. Anderson was awarded U. S. permanent resident status through the prestigious “national interest waiver” provision, specifically for his work with the U.K. divisions of Fortune 500 companies.

In 1997, Dr. Anderson was responsible for the turnaround of one of Europe’s largest transport groups with depots in seven countries. During a five-month period, he conceived the corporate recovery plan, restructured the Board, and personally recruited a new CEO and CFO. He developed the HR strategic plan and recruited the new HR senior manager, negotiated a recovery package with financial institutions, and worked with the new Board to implement the recovery plan.

Prior to concentrating full time on his business consultancy, Dr. Anderson had a variety of successful career experiences in other fields. He was a professional actor in the U.K. with a succession of stage, television and film credits. He had an academic career as a researcher and lecturer at the Universities of Manchester and Bournemouth in the U.K. He also ran a busy mixed clinical practice on the south coast of England for more than ten years.

Dr. Anderson received his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology & Economics, a Master’s in Social Psychology and Research Methods, and a PhD in Organization Behavior and Psychotherapy, all from the University of Manchester, England. He went on to gain three further MScs in Experimental Psychology, Occupational Psychology and Psychological Counselling. He worked as a therapist and conducted research in the British National Health Service.

Dr. Anderson is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a member of the American Psychological Association, a member of the British Society of Experimental and Clinical Hypnosis, and a member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. He is both a writer and an internationally renowned speaker on a variety of topics.

 

 


Jon Peterson, PhD

Director, Business Development

Jon Peterson is a business psychologist and consultant. During the last twenty years he has developed an expertise in the areas of Developing Leaders, Succession Planning, and selection and promotional evaluations. Jon has worked in a variety of businesses and organizational settings with senior managers and executives on a wide range of projects including career planning, crisis intervention, communication and interpersonal skills development, and strategic HR initiatives.

Dr. Peterson earned his Bachelor’s degree from Westmont College, Santa Barbara, California in 1974, a Master’s in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1978, and his PhD in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology, Pasadena, California in 1979.

Jon is a renowned speaker on a variety of topics, a member of the American Psychological Association, the Professional Coaches and Mentors Association, the American Society for Training and Development, and the National Human Resource Association.



Tony Traweek, PhD
Director, Business Development

Tony Traweek is a business psychologist and consultant whose expertise is in the development of organizations’ senior management teams and executive leadership. In his 28 years of experience, Dr. Traweek has facilitated the development of technical and advanced-degree professionals into managers, leaders, and partners. He has been instrumental in the development of key senior executives and mission-critical executive teams and has successfully accomplished turn-around coaching with highly valued but under-performing or prematurely plateaued key contributors. Tony’s emphasis is on effective change management that integrates overall corporate Human Resources strategies with an organization’s business objectives.

Dr. Traweek has consulted with a broad range of companies that include cutting-edge technology, research and development, health care, regional utility, major construction, regional accounting and professional service firms, the Department of Defense (DOD), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Department of Energy (DOE), and U.S. Government security agencies.

Dr. Traweek undertook his undergraduate training at the University of Idaho, where he received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology. He obtained a Master’s Degree from the University of Northern Colorado and completed his Doctoral Degree in Psychology from Utah State University. He completed a clinical internship at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Traweek has held high level reliability and security positions throughout his career and is capable of working with highly sensitive material and in areas with restricted access. He currently holds a “Q” Security Clearance with the NNSA/DOE. Dr. Traweek has consulted at the state, regional and national level and in Western Europe.

Tony is a 20+ year member of the American Psychological Association, American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and National Register of Health Care Providers in Psychology, and recently completed a six year association as an Examiner with the New Mexico Board of Psychologist Examiners.

 



Carol Jung, PsyD
Manager, Business Development

Carol Jung is a business psychologist and organizational consultant. For more than 20 years she has developed leaders and organizations in a variety of industries including financial services, high tech, professional services, retail and telecommunications.

Dr Jung is well known for her work in the field of women in leadership. In particular, she is an expert in developing strategies that assist individuals in harnessing their potential and applying that potential in order to advance their best interests.

Carol has also enjoyed considerable success is assisting businesses in acquiring and retaining superior talent, building their human resource capital, and developing business objectives that are aligned with the company's values and culture.

Dr Jung was awarded a Bachelor’s degree from Holy Cross College in 1975, an MSW from the University of Wisconsin in 1977, and a Doctor of Psychology degree from Pacific University in 1989.

 


Bruce Etringer, PhD

Manager, Business Development

Bruce Etringer is a business psychologist and consultant. He has consulted with both private and public organizations, including professional service firms, engineering firms, information technology companies, privately held companies, financial firms, health care clinics, state and local HR departments, insurance firms, hospitals, and universities. His work has included developing leaders and managers, developing teams, preventing derailment with valued employees, career development for prematurely plateaued employees, training in communication and interpersonal skills, resolving interpersonal issues and crisis management among key employees, and consultation on mental and physical health issues for employees.

Dr. Etringer received his Master's in Psychology from Old Dominion University. He gained a PhD in Psychology from Iowa State University, where his studies included an emphasis in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Management. He completed a post-doctoral internship at the University of Utah.

Dr. Etringer has practiced as a licensed psychologist since 1983, and has served for various periods of time as Direct of Career Counseling and Development in several large universities. He has established and administered career counseling and behavioral consulting services in a variety of settings, and consulted on personnel issues with numerous agencies. Most recently, he has run a successful clinical and consulting practice for over five years.

Dr. Etringer has received postdoctoral training in such areas as individual and organizational consultation in business and industry, adult career issues, assessment of work personality and organizational functioning, team development, and adult development. He has published and spoken nationally in the area of career development and development of expertise. Dr. Etringer is a certified trainer in Motivational Interviewing, an approach designed to increase intrinsic motivation to make and maintain behavioral change over time. He currently serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Departments of Psychology and Counseling Psychology at the University of Utah.

Dr. Etringer is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Utah Psychological Association, and the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce.

 


Trish Stanley, PsyD

Manager of Business Development

Trish Stanley has consulted to individuals and organizations for over 25 years. She has worked with leaders and key contributors from the fields of law, biotechnology, telecommunications, healthcare, government, finance, training and development, manufacturing, tourism and the arts.

Prior to joining Synnabar Consulting, Dr. Stanley had several long-term consulting engagements with regional healthcare organizations, advising key executives on strategic realignment and execution, new product development and implementation, derailment and succession planning projects, and business development initiatives.

Dr. Stanley has been the founder and executive director of several organizations, including a multidisciplinary professional services firm, and a startup regional nonprofit.

Dr. Stanley took her undergraduate training at San Diego State University, where she also received a Master’s in Counseling. Her doctorate in Applied Psychology is from United States International University. She completed a clinical internship at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Stanley speaks and appears on television, locally and regionally on a variety of topics related to enhancing the performance of both individuals and organizations. She was a Resident Fellow of the Center for Studies of the Person for ten years.

Trish Stanley is a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, a member of the Professional Coaches and Mentors Association, and a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners.

 


Michael Dishon, PhD

Manager of Business Development

Michael Dishon, PhD has more than 25 years’ experience as a business psychologist and consultant. He has specific expertise and experience in crisis resolution, the application of management and psychological principles to organizational functioning and enhancement, and working with family owned companies.

Dr. Dishon’s specialized training in family therapy gives him a unique understanding of conflict issues and family dynamics that often interfere with the success of these businesses. In 1984 he founded the Family Business Center, a consulting firm specializing in family owned and operated firms. Combining business principles and family psychology, the Center’s services included succession planning, aligning family needs, beliefs, and values with those of the business, intergenerational conflict resolution, culture change, coaching and dealing with family and non-family employee tensions.

Dr. Dishon has extensive experience of conflict-resolution, the impact of corporate culture on morale, and employee turnover and productivity. His expertise includes assessment processes for the selection, promotion, and development of employees, mostly at mid- and upper-levels. In recent years he has focused on the management of change initiatives, corporate cultural issues, and the implementation of organization-wide conflict management systems.

Dr. Dishon’s clients have included businesses of varying sizes, in industries including professional service firms, high tech, manufacturing, and retail.

Michael Dishon received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California at Berkeley, and a PhD in Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Los Angeles. Dr. Dishon is a Fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners. He is also an assistant clinical professor, currently teaching at the Medical School, University of California at Los Angeles. Previously, he also taught at the California State University at Fullerton, Pepperdine University, and the California Graduate Institute.

Dr. Dishon has been active as a volunteer member of the American Red Cross, Disaster Mental Health Team. He had a variety of roles with the Los Angeles County Psychological Association, including that of Treasurer and Chair of the Forensic Committee. Dr. Dishon was also the psychology editor for the Family Law News, a State Bar publication.


Christopher Boyd, PhD
Manager of Business Development

Christopher Boyd is a business psychologist and organization development consultant with 15 years’ experience. He has a responsibility for Synnabar’s business development in the Northeastern United States. He is a subject expert in strategy implementation, and he is an active contributor to Synnabar’s continuous improvement initiative. His consulting experience includes developing leaders and assisting managers to achieve an alignment of performance infrastructure and strategic goals. Chris has helped to develop a powerful set of tools and processes used to help organizations achieve sustained performance improvements. These include organizational audits, change management and facilitative leadership methodologies, and tools to facilitate the integration of Human Resource strategies with an organization’s business objectives.

Prior to joining Synnabar, Dr. Boyd enjoyed a variety of successful career experiences in community, academia, and public sector arenas. In 2000 he was engaged to assist a “turnaround” project for which he received national recognition. In the same year he was awarded several prestigious “Innovations in Government” awards for his leadership abilities.

Dr. Boyd has been a member of the Adjunct Faculty in the Graduate School of Education at Boston College for eight years, where he teaches a variety of courses in the areas of human development and organizational development as well as the application of behavioral sciences in organizational contexts. He is well known for his thought provoking, energetic style.

Chris received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1992. He has also been awarded three Master’s degrees in Theology, Counseling, and Clinical Psychology. Dr. Boyd is a sought after speaker and presents both locally and nationally on an assortment of topics related to the application of psychology in the workplace.
